Seoul & Jeju Day 4: Gimpo Aiport, Jeju International Airport, Check in Dreaming Forest Pension, Jungmun Tourist Complex

Day 4
Summary: Gimpo Aiport > Jeju International Airport > Check in Dreaming Forest Pension > Jungmun Tourist Complex (Ripley's Believe It Or Not museum, Cheonjiyeon falls + Seonimgyo Bridge)

Good morning! Can't wait... simply can't wait... We woke up very early today because we are so excited about our trip to Jeju!!! Jeju, also known as the "Island of Gods", was created from volcanic eruptions approximately two million years ago. It is a top honeymoon destination for Korean newly weds, and also regarded as one of the top honeymoon spots in the world.

Jeju!! WEe~ we are coming!

We booked our domestic air ticket via Jeju Air 2 months prior our trip. Considering 110,000 won for a round ticket, NOT BAD AT ALL! Booking through Jeju Air's website is convenient and we experienced no problem. Most importantly, there were many flight timings for us to choose about. http://www.jejuair.net/

Some other airlines offering flights to Jeju are Korean Air, Aisana Airlines, Eastar Jet, and T'way Airlines. Feel free to check them out. One good thing about Jeju Air, and all Korean airlines, is that they are lenient when it comes to baggage. Jeju Air allows 10kg hand-carry and 15kg checked in luggage for domestic route, without any ADDITIONAL CHARGE! We have no worries about our luggage. Lalala~

Selfie at Gimpo Airport!
Hubby look so slim in this picture. Who is the photographer?? Hehehes...

The plane departed on time! Jeju Air is a budget airline so there were no free meals on board. However, we were pleasantly surprised to be served drinks such as juice, water or coffee.  We didn't expect this kind of service from a low cost airline. The flight attendants were friendly, and pretty too! *wink wink*

We reached Jeju at 1pm. First thing we need to do is to collect our car from the car renting company - KTKumho. For those who  are interested to visit Jeju Island, we would strongly recommend you to rent a car. Driving is probably the best way to tour Jeju island because the attractions are quite far apart. Unless you are proficient in korean, else you will have a hard time reading signs on public transport, not to mention asking for directions.  For more information, please read my blogpost on Self-Driving Guide in Jeju.
One of the easiest and most relaxing ways to see Jeju Island is by renting a car. The top tourist destination for leisurely vacations in Korea, Jeju Island is perfect for a driving tour with an efficient road network and beautiful scenery. Some travelers may be tempted to drive faster than the limit, but because of the island’s winding roads, speeding is strictly forbidden. - See more at: http://www.ctc.com.sg/tour/krjjdr/34-days-lets-drive-jeju#sthash.ozDBZfzx.dpuf

Some travelers may be tempted to drive faster than the limit, but because of the island’s winding roads, speeding is strictly forbidden. The best road for driving is probably Route 12, the beltway around the island. Route 12 provides access to coastal roads along the way, so travelers can enjoy a fantastic drive along the coast with a view of the emerald-colored sea and soaring gulls. Its stunning natural scenery of the island has made it a favorite filming location for numerous Korean TV mini-series, many of which are popular around the world. This Best Tour of Jeju includes some of these filming locations as well as other scenic destinations. - See more at: http://www.ctc.com.sg/tour/krjjdr/34-days-lets-drive-jeju#sthash.ozDBZfzx.dpuf

Heading to our pension at Seogwipo-si!  After about one and a half hour drive, here we are - Dreaming Forest Pension! A very lovely country style pension for the next 3 days! Awesomeness...

The pension is located in a forest. The environment is really nice, quite and relaxed. You could hear birds creeping in the morning.

Well, I believed the photos below will do the talking... It is clean, spacious, and well-equipped with kitchen facilities, and heated floors. The pension owner and her family are staying next door in a separate house. They are extremely helpful and friendly! The only downside will be the steep staircase that might be difficult for elderly/children. Else, everything is perfect!

It feels like home!

A balcony overlooking the tangerine groves and the famous Mt. Hallasan. A perfect view to wake up with every morning!

After settling down, we headed to Jungmun Tourist Complex. With numerous entertaining facilities, this high-end tourism resort is popular among the travelers. Many sightseeing destinations are located within easy reach of the resort, for instance Teddy Bear Musuem, Ripley's Believe It Or Not museum, Jusangjeollidae Cliff, Jungmun Beach, Yeomiji Botanic Garden, Glass Museum,  Cheonjiyeon Falls & Seonimgyo Bridge.

Jungmun Tourist Complex

We picked Ripley's Believe it or not, Cheonjiyeon Falls & Seonimgyo Bridge as our destinations for our first day in Jeju.

Cheonjiyeon Falls, is a three-tier waterfall. Cold water flow out of the ceiling of a cave to form the waterfall.

First tier is basically a pond formed by the water from the waterfall. The colors of the pond are pretty...

First tier

See, a small waterfall at the second-tier. Although the volume of the water is quite small, but there is something magical here... Words can't describe.

Second tier
To reach the third tier, you have to walk a thousand steps down the staircase and another thousand flights steps back up. We decided to give it a miss since the weather is getting really bad...

Rainy day! Good thing about rainy days, there is no crowd...

Wondering around Seonimgyo Bridge.

Cheonjeru Tower is located at other side of the Seonimgyo Bridge. Every even-year in May, the Chilseonyeo Festival is held here.

Fountain of five blessings

Due to the bad weather condition, let's visit the museums. Deciding between Ripley's Believe It Or Not OR Teddy Bear Museum? We finally decided  to go for Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum since there is another Teddy Bear Museum at Namsan N Seoul Tower. But whaaaoooo... We latter found out that Teddy Bear Museum at Namsan is closed!!
o(╥﹏╥)o

It's not a normal museum. It has quite some interactive part and interesting facts. A good place to kill time on a rainy day!

Black pig and abalone hot pot to end our day~! Look at hubby's face~ yummy yummy!
